Mastering One Light

Creating your own light can take your photography to new levels and it doesn’t have to be difficult to learn. It can add mood, drama, shape, texture, and beauty to your portraits in new and creative ways. The key to lighting is mastering and understanding how to create the effect you want and having complete control. This class will teach you the essential fundamental skills on how to create professional lighting effects whether you're in the studio or on location. Scott Robert Lim will share his secrets on lighting that has helped thousands of photographers worldwide and will unlock the keys to creating his award winning imagery and signature style. This is both a lecture and a hands on event. Please bring your favorite portrait lens and lighting gear if you own. You can join the group after registration and can discuss lighting options, etc. 

Introduction to Fashion Photography

Learn to group and compose your images to create powerful and compelling layouts. We’ll start by learning from companies who have spent millions of dollars working to capture your attention in half a second and we’ll examine a variety of advertising campaigns to see the exact techniques and methods they are using to capture more traffic and attention on their images and then we will work to see how you can apply these to your own work. Imagine you could…Bring new life into your work with a bold new and contemporary approach. Go into a portrait session with a bag of new ideas and an inspiring workflow. Create images that evoke a fashion-forward style. This includes a 3 hour hands on portrolio building session with real models. Put into practice what was taught during the lecture session. Please bring your favorite portrait lenses and lighting if you own. You are welcome to follow Scott and observe his techniques but he will use his own lighting system. Please join the group and any gear questions can be addressed. 

Post Processing Techniques

- Retouch Techniques 

Learn these essential retouching techniques to dazzle clients and create photos people appreciate for a lifetime. Fashion and glamour artists will gain much from learning to beautify your subjects and this course will not only teach you several powerful retouching secrets but will also open up new ways for you to photograph stunning portraits. Scott will select one of his images from the previous day and show how he edits and creates an award-winning styled photo. The class will have access to his original photo and can follow along on their own computer and practice Scott’s techniques.

- Post Processing Coaching

Scott will field questions and help students with their post-processing. Please bring your own laptop to process your own photos.
