The Real Magazine Editorial | Gallery Exhibit | Sony Artisan Workshop | San Francisco, CA
Sony Artisans, Scott Robert Lim, and Zabrina Deng will be creating a real stylized editorial fashion shoot for a major magazine and you will be included as one of the photographers. This is your chance to be internationally published! This workshop will include two styled shoots with models that WILL BE PUBLISHED. This workshop will include: Hands-on instruction, portfolio building, and critique. As an ADDED BONUS every participant will have the opportunity to showcase at least one of their images in a Gallery Exhibition entitled "Chinatown is Not Dead" in a historic restaurant in San Francisco. Have a chance to sell your fine art print!
Zabrina Deng will be sharing her secrets on what made her an international superstar by creating editorial-type, high fashion sessions with her clients. Scott Robert Lim will be teaching his simple yet extraordinary cinematic lighting secrets using constant light for both still photos and video as well as flash for more dramatic looks. This workshop will also cover composition, posing, and lighting tips. Don’t miss this extraordinary workshop with two Sony Artisans with two different styles combining forces to broaden, enhance and inspire your creative spirit.
Tentative Itinerary
Friday, Feb 18 Arrive in San Francisco. Airport SFO or Oakland International OAK
- 1pm to 4 pm: Street Photography in San Francisco Chinatown. Guided tour to include secret and special access locations for some amazing images. Chinatown is a great place for street photography, the people, storefronts, and iconic SF images are classic. Roam the streets and have a great time building your street photography portfolio!
- 6:30 Meet and Greet Dinner in SF Chinatown Area TBA. We will discuss more details about the workshop and get to know each other over eats and drinks. Questions about the workshop or photography are always welcome. Sit down and talk with two international master photographers and be mentored! Worth the price of admission.
Saturday, Feb 19
10am to 1pm: Lecture at the oldest restaurant in San Francisco. Iconic Location that will provide an amazing backdrop and environment for our styled shoot later in the day. Lunch will be at the location. We will be teaching how to style and plan an editorial shoot. We will go over assignments and what imagery we need to include to meet the requirements of the magazine our images will appear in. Topics include Style, Composition, Posing, and Lighting.
1pm to 3pm: Preplan your shots and survey the SF Chinatown area
3pm - 7pm: Styled Session with models begins! Have fun working in groups and have the option to see how master photographers Zabrina and Scott set up, compose, light, and pose their subjects. See how experts arrange and set up their images.
Sunday, Feb 20
10am to 1pm: Select and prepare at least one of your images to exhibit at our gallery showing that evening. Your image will be professionally printed and mounted for gallery display. You can keep this framed image to bring home as a reminder. You can even price your print for sale if you wish. To have your image included in the gallery there will be an additional gallery prep fee. Scott and Zabrina will help with the selection process and give editing suggestions and instructions for your photograph(s)
2pm to 5pm: Styled shoot with models at an iconic SF location! TBA
6pm - 9pm: Gallery Exhibit in San Francisco Chinatown
